Providing commissioned art is a far different animal from painting what you want, how you want it.
I've been doing commissions for years, and because I did my homework early on, I've never had a bad experience. A bit trying, maybe, but all good in the end. Here are the basics:

With a signed document in hand, you will be unlikely to experience clients backing out mid
project. If something like this does occur, be professional. Come to some sort of
reasonable agreement on how to proceed.
