Some say a life runs in cycles, and recently, I would have to agree that mine is doing just that.
It has been four years since my last outdoor art festival, and making the decision to quit doing them was very difficult for me. Of course, that was before I had my shoulder surgery. I also booked myself up for as many as 9 shows a summer, many of which were out of state and required overnight stays. In short, each season was a huge undertaking for both myself and my husband, who unerringly helped me with each and every one.
So in 2012 I sold all my stuff and made other paths to follow, which have turned out well. Still, I have missed those shows and all the appreciative attendees and other artists, to an almost alarming degree.
Never one to not take charge of a situation, I decided that I would jump back in! So I bought a tent, display racks, and other necessities, and booked a few shows. Close by ones that don't require overnights except for one--in my favorite town of all--Bar Harbor. I'll make it a mini vacation since the motel is pet friendly and very close to the park where the show will be held.
In addition, I have become a member of the York Art Association in York Beach, Maine. They have a new gallery in which they'll hold shows through out the summer and early fall, so my presence will be felt there as well. I sincerely hope to see you at one or more of my shows, info and dates for which are listed on this site. Summer is coming!
