The last two months has been totally devoted to organizing, designing, setting up and finally, opening The Gallery at 11 Pleasant, in Brunswick, Maine. As Director and Curator, you can imagine how proud I am that the doors are now open.
Our first show includes 12 artists and artisans and various types of work. From paintings in acrylic and oil to pen and ink drawings, photography of two vastly different types, wood carving, and metal sculpting, and hand-crafted quality jewelry, customers were delighted by the plethora of sensory stimulation.
May is an iffy art sales month and our opening day was rainy, but traffic was steady and sometimes crowded, and sales were good. There is every reason to believe we are off to a stellar summer season. Now--back to the easel!
