With just two days left until my first show of the season in Madison, Connecticut, I have found the time to begin a new painting. It's a little study of a barn owl in profile sitting in the broken out window of an old, decaying barn. There are crumbling bricks beginning to show beneath the aged stucco overlay. The lighter colors of the owl stand in stark contrast against the barn's interior shadows. The owl has its head bent, as if resting, creating a pleasing arc. The color palette is limited to blues, grays, yellows browns. I'm enjoying this piece immensely. There is just something about birds that captures my fancy. Please leave a comment below if you feel the same way!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone---I'll be posting again on Sunday after the show.
